This building was built around 1950 to be used as an automatic car wash. It has remained a car wash to this day. The wash has seen a number of changes through the years from the type of cars to the type of equipment used to clean the cars. In January of 2001, R & G Car Wash, Incorporated entered into a lease for the property and business that was know as KC Car Wash, Incorporated. The car wash was run down and needed serious renovations. There was no hot water being used to clean the cars, the hot water heater was broken. The cleaning started with a nylon bristle brush dipped in a bucket of soap used to scrub the cars. Once this was done they would spray the car off with high pressure guns and put you on the track. The mitting curtains, that are supposed to have felt on them, were adorned with indoor/outdoor carpet that would then drag back and forth on the car to help clean further. Any extra services such as foam wax, sealer wax, or bottom blast had to be manually turned on, hoping that they would remember to turn it on for the car. The blower system was old and held up by chains. R & G Car Wash had the challenge of changing the reputation of the old wash. We brought over twenty years of experience in washing cars to the new wash. The first thing was to get hot water back online. We also added a computer that would control the washes that the cars would receive, it would tum on the soaps and waxes as the car went through the wash. We worked on training the employees on the proper way to wash and dry the cars, We also replaced the carpet with up to date felt cloth that would protect the cars finish. We changed to chemicals that cleaned and protected the car and added a triple foam wax, In October of 2003, we purchased the car wash and property. In November of 2003 we built and installed a new track that would pull the cars down the wash. In January of 2004 we installed new updated equipment in the wash that would clean better and faster. This included a new hot water boiler system, new mitting curtains, tall van wraps, rocker panel wraps, tire brushes, wheel cleaner, tire cleaner. and high pressure side panel and wheel sprayers. In August of 2004 the property adjacent to the wash was purchased. This property allowed us better stacking capacity that allowed us to provide faster service to our customers. Our sales person was now outside with the customers and able to provide a more personal touch. We also put a car port over our vacuum area that helped to increase our productivity and helped the customers to get in and out quicker. This also allowed us to start building our Express Detail business. This was another service we wanted to have to better serve our customers. In January of 2008 we added a plastic wall liner system to the inside of the wash that really helped to clean up the inside of the wash and provided a much nicer look for the customers. In February of2008 we installed a new blower system that does a much better job in getting the water off the cars. It has been and will always be the goal of R & G Car Wash to provide the best service and value to our customers. We will continue to look for better ways to meet our customers' needs. We look forward to serving you and your needs.
